2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2023 Grand Cherokee is available in six trim levels: Laredo, Altitude, Limited, Overland, Summit, and Summit Reserve. The Laredo trim comes with 18-inch fully painted aluminum wheels, the Altitude adds 20-inch glossy black painted aluminum wheels, the Limited adds 18-inch fully painted aluminum wheels, the Overland offers 20-inch machined-face aluminum wheels, the Summit adds 20-inch fully painted aluminum silver wheels, and the Summit Reserve adds 21-inch machined face and painted aluminum wheels.

Although the grille now tilts inward rather than outward, the appearance is still distinctly that of a classic Jeep wagon. Narrow roof pillars surround the upright windscreen, and the roof extends backward to gently slope toward the tailboard. The Grand Cherokee's rear end has a contemporary appearance thanks to its narrow taillights and red accenting. The overall length is 204.9 inches, and the running ground clearance on standard trims is a solid 8.5 inches.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee's three engine options have varying power levels. The standard 3.6 liter V-6 generates 260 pound-feet of torque and 293 horsepower with an eight-speed automated gearbox. Upgrade to the 5.7-liter V-8 for 357 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque for faster acceleration. A 2.0-liter turbo-four and two electric motors combine in the 4xe engine, providing an off-road-ready 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque.

While Jeeps are often associated with the great outdoors, the Grand Cherokee is just as fun to take out on the city streets. The Grand Cherokee steers straight and turns with minimal body roll. Sizable but with a sharp turn radius, it's an excellent option for city and suburban drivers who enjoy rock crawling on the weekends.

This Jeep's smooth ride is equally outstanding, with both the base suspension and the optional air suspension easily absorbing irregularities. You can tow up to 6,200 pounds with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, 7,200 pounds with the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, and 6,000 pounds with the 4xe 2.0-liter i-4.

Jeep replaced the inside of the departing Grand Cherokee with a completely modernized cabin. While entry-level Laredo models come standard with all the necessities, the Summit and Overland trims come with extras such as quilted leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and cutting-edge digital displays.

It's a pleasure to use Jeep's Uconnect infotainment system, due to quick loading, clear visuals, and an easy, effective design. The 8.4-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a six-speaker music system, USB connections, and Bluetooth are all standard infotainment features.
